History
Lasertec was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary of a national technology company in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The firm had six employees and was housed in 5000 square feet.
Originally, the company was formed to provide high-speed laser printing and mailing to financial service companies, primarily credit unions, throughout the country.
As Lasertec matured, services were offered to many other industries including healthcare, insurance, automotive, government, industrial, and advertising agencies.
In 1993, the assets of the parent company were acquired by Electronic Data System, which included Lasertec. Not being a core focus for EDS, Lasertec was offered for sale to the current owners in 1995.
In 1998, Lasertec completed design and construction of a new state of the art building that now houses our main production facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan. An addition completed in 2001 increased this production facility to nearly 40,000 square feet.
Our second production facility opened July 1, 2009. Not only will this additional plant support our growing business it will also provide a key element to our extensive disaster recovery plan.
