Lasertec was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary of a national technology company in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The firm had six employees and was housed in 5000 square feet. Originally, the company was formed to provide high-speed laser printing and mailing to financial service companies, primarily credit unions, throughout the country. As Lasertec matured, services were offered to many other industries including healthcare, insurance, automotive, government, industrial, and advertising agencies.
In 1993, the assets of the parent company were acquired by Electronic Data System, which included Lasertec. Not being a core focus for EDS, Lasertec was offered for sale to the current owners in 1995.
Since then, under the leadership of Mark Schulte, Lasertec's President and CEO, a strong focus has been placed on controlled growth. Lasertec now serves hundreds of companies representing a broad range of industries throughout the United States.
In 1998, Lasertec completed design and construction of a new state of the art building that now houses our production facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan. An addition completed in 2001 increased our production facility to nearly 40,000 square feet. Careful consideration was given for even the smallest detail to assure we created an efficient and comfortable operation for our staff. Our meticulous approach to business is clearly reflected in our facility, which is conveyed during regularly hosted visits of clients and prospects.
The foundation of our company: data manipulation, and print shop fulfillment, underlines many of our latest offerings, and continues to be relied on by hundreds of long-term relationships. Electronic document presentment, online data archiving, and custom cross selling tools are just a few of the features that have positioned Lasertec as an industry leader, and our on-going development commitment will preserve that throughout the twenty-first century.
