Case Study

Advancial Federal Credit Union asked Lasertec to provide a response to a request for a proposal for statement rendering services. Advancial had been exploring the possibility of making a vendor switch that would allow them to bring more functionality and direct communication with their members through the statement channel. Advancial made a determination to make a change to Lasertec after we demonstrated a proactive approach to solving the organizations challenges. Lasertec, was not only interested in solving the immediate challenges Advancial was facing, but assessed the long-range goals of the credit union as a whole and provided for a strategy that would help them tie in their document delivery strategies with other planned projects.

Prior to the credit union making a decision to move forward with Lasertec as their new vendor, we took a very difficult print file statement format and programmed Advancial's statement. This included an internally calculated loan coupon feature built into the statement generation program. This development was demonstrated to the credit union within a few days. Once Advancial signed the document rendering services agreement, the credit union moved forward immediately with Lasertec transforming their notices from a letter format, to a self-mailer. The self-mailer, the credit union said, made their members understand they were receiving something that needed their attention and not just something they could ignore. This self-mailer has significant savings associated with it realized through forms savings, personnel savings, and the postage discounts that are realized by having Lasertec mail utilizing bulk mail discounts.

The statement that was initially created for Advancial was designed with the ability to implement one to one marketing strategies embedded into the body of the statement. These strategies would result in unique messages placed in each member's statement when certain search criteria was met. Advancial is also working with Lasertec to design an entirely new statement look that is to be released in mid 2006. This statement design will incorporate summarizations, and possibly graphs. The credit union already utilizes segment statement processing with Lasertec producing their kids club statements with it's own unique design.
