Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) was created by the US Postal Service to provide standardized addressing for mass mailers.
CASS certification allows the mail to be routed by machine, rather than by hand. This address standardization process insures that all CASS certified mail has deliverable addresses; only those addresses that the postal service knows are valid.
